The Child Protection Programme is a core sector of our work. We utilize a child rights programming framework and keep in mind the cross-cutting themes of child participation, non-discrimination and best interests of children.

Our child protection work focuses on three key “evidence” groups:

- Children affected by disasters/emergencies and conflict, including Disaster        Risk Reduction.
- Exploitation & child trafficking.
- Children in the worst forms of labour and children with inadequate parental        care including alternatives to institutional care.

Women consistently lag behind men in terms of access to education, health care, jobs etc. Apart from the economic and social inequality, women are victims of heinous crimes such as dowry deaths, rape, molestation and immoral trafficking.

The reasons could be varied for various women, some women could be deprived of these opportunities because their men don’t want them to work, the others may be restricted due to family pressures or peer pressures.

We believe in practical steps to create income for women, who are capable ,intelligent and willing to work. ICNA is working at the grass root level to empower women to attain economic participation in order to overcome poverty and inequality.

One in eight women, men and children go to bed hungry every night and by 2025 nearly a billion young people will face poverty because of the damage done to them now through hunger and malnutrition. Hunger remains the No.1 cause of death in the world.

Despite substantial improvement in health since independence and a growth rate of 8 percent in recent years, under-nutrition remains a silent emergency with almost 50 percent of children underweight and more than 70 percent of the women and children with serious nutritional deficiencies as anemia.

The number of hungry people is always more than the number of people below official poverty line. Support us so as to provide satisfied food for this fragile section of the society.

Community development is a process whereby community members come together to take collective action and generate solutions to common problems.

It adopts a grassroots or a bottom up approach to finding viable solutions by the community for the various issues plaguing it.

Participation of the community as a whole has to be an integral part for the programme to be sustainable.
